2019-20 Season

Among the offseason winners, the Los Angeles Lakers made a bunch of moves including their most notable trade for Anthony Davis. Their first year with #23 wasn’t very successful and they once again missed the playoffs. After a failed attempt at a deadline deal, they finally sent a group of potential stars and the #4 overall pick among others to the New Orleans Pelicans to land the biggest prize in the trade market. They continued their pursuit of a third star though they lost out on the Kawhi Leonard sweepstakes. Instead, Demarcus Cousins will be reuniting with his old teammate from New Orleans.

The Lakers will head into the year with 3 superstar/star level players in their lineups. Lebron James is still one of the best all around players in the league though age may soon play a factor in his game. Anthony Davis is fresh off of drama in his tenure with the Pelicans and is looking for a new start in Los Angeles. After having to carry the team for his whole career, he’ll join up with James to take the burden off. Demarcus Cousins will also join the team after a one year stint with the rival Golden State Warriors.

LeBron James

Who Is LeBron James?

LeBron Raymone James is an American basketball player with the Los Angeles Lakers. James first garnered national attention as the top high school basketball player in the country. With his unique combination of size, athleticism and court vision, he became a four-time NBA MVP. After leading the Miami Heat to titles in 2012 and 2013, James returned to Cleveland and helped the franchise claim its first championship in 2016.

Why is LeBron the best NBA player?

So far, no one has been able to contest LeBron. This is part of what makes him the best player: No one can stop him. He’s shutting down defensive efforts game after game. You would think that someone would have figured him out by now. Not yet. LeBron shows no signs of slowing down or stopping. He’s on a mission, and no one is going to stand in his way. Using his size and skill, he defeats any chance of challenging his shot. He’s tough to defend down low, and with his efficiency, he’s nearly invincible. Perhaps the only person that can stop him is LeBron himself.  HE CAN’T BE STOPPED!!

A quote written by LeBron:

“Ask me to play, I’ll play, ask me to shoot, I’ll shoot. Ask me to pass, I’ll pass, Ask me to steal, block out, sacrifice, lead, dominate, anything. But it’s not just what you ask of me. It’s what I ask of myself.” – LeBron James

The History of the LA Lakers

The Lakers, a professional basketball team, came into existence in 1948. At the time, they were the Minneapolis Lakers and played their home games in Minnesota, which lies in the Great Lakes region, thus explaining the team’s name. After playing in Minneapolis for twelve seasons, the Lakers moved their franchise to Los Angeles in 1960. The 2010-11 season will be their 51st in Southern California. During their 62-year history, the Lakers have won sixteen championships–five in Minneapolis and eleven in Los Angeles.

” You either make it or you don’t make it. That’s when you worry about it.” -Lebron James
